Spain Weather All Year Round Spain has a unique location in which the temperate zone gives it a sub-tropical climate throughout most of the year. However, the country of Spain also experiences a vast amount of diversity in its climate due to the ruggedness of the landscapes in the country. The country is filled with rolling meadows, and sizeable mountains, which both have an effect on the climate in Spain. In fact, the Cantabrian Mountains serve as a division in climate for the entire country. The mountain range separates Spain into two very distinguishable climatic zones. One being the rainy Spain, which occupies the area north of the mountains and the dry Spain, which exists south of the Cantabrian Mountain range. Spain Weather1 The rainy Spain consists of: the Basque country, Cantabr...
Melting snow and heavy rain in northern Spain has caused river levels to rise in particular the Ebro on its way through the region of Navarra, leaving unprecedented floods which are now seeping into neighbouring Aragón. Already, towns and cities are sitting over two feet deep in water and 20,000 hectares of land has been affected by the Ebro bursting its banks in Navarra alone. Castejón and Tudela, close to the border with Aragón, are under water and the first town on the other side of the regional frontier, Novillas, in the province of Zaragoza is now flooded. The Ebro in this area has risen to seven metres in depth and has flooded 1,500 hectares of land, leaving at least 20 houses waterlogged, according to mayor of Novillas, José Ayesa, who says the town is 'living on a knife-edge'. ...

Did you know Spain has one of the fastest rail networks in the world? Or that it has more high speed rail track than anywhere else in Europe? Why are these two dull facts fantastic bits of news? It's because Spain's high speed trains, or AVE trains as they're known, allow you to see the country in a whole different way. Or as we like to put it - you can see more of Spain, in less time. We know this because we put it to the test recently - we travelled Spain by train to four cities in Spain in four days on the AVE network. We took in mini Rome, in the form of Tarragona, one of the most historic cities in the country. One hour's train ride later we were in Zaragoza, Spain's fifth largest city discovering modern and Moorish architecture and delicious Aragon dishes. Next up was Spain's c...
